About the online learning bytes catalogue

We are pleased to introduce the new online edition of learndirect scotland's learning bytes catalogue which will make it even easier for you to access learning bytes and complements the offline catalogue. (If you would like to receive additional copies of the catalogue, then please speak with your learning development officer.)

The online directory enables you to search more effectively, customise and print an edited version of the catalogue for your own specific needs. 

The directory includes a section on learning bytes which complement the competencies facility available through the learning centre academy on Skillnet.  The academy tools and learning bytes are specifically aimed at supporting the training needs of learning centre staff and tutors. 

Learning bytes are accessed via our learning management system (LMS). The system tracks learner progress and provides information to help you to support your learners more effectively.

The online directory will be updated with details of new learning bytes as soon as they are available on Skillnet.
New learning bytes topics are added frequently, with the latest ones including British Sign Language, digital photography and 3D animation. This means that there are now over 650 learning bytes for your use and these reflect some of the feedback we have had from centres using learning bytes and from other partners.
